Bootmgr is missing vista dell inspiron

Acronis is installed on a separate PC. On the original HDD is Win 7 pro 32 bit installed. On the the PC runs Wins 7 pro 64 bit. During the configuration of the True Image for the cloning a warning occurs 'after the end of the action the OS can not start with UEFI mode ion the target system'.

All 3 partitions were transfered to the new HDD. After starting the new HDD build in the notebook Windows started with an autorepair message the OS could not be repaired reboot the computer. Several tries failed. It happened the same again. Reconfiguring the new HDD with the Acronis True Image by skipping the recovery partition lead to the flag bootmgr is missing please press ctrl Alt Del to restart.

So what went wrong? I got my Dell Precision M in a business liquidation sale. It didn't come with a disk. I tried to reformat with the Windows 7 disk I got with my desktop.

It quit in the middle of the process. My question is this: how am I supposed to format or even get to a point where I can install an OS??

If you have question please reply back to the same post. I did all that and still i get the error message of bootmgr is missing. Hi mbtjthomas96, There's a pretty good chance your motherboard battery has died 'floppy diskette seek failure".

The hard drive is recognized. Step 2 does not work. I've tried to use Windows 7 disk as well, with no luck. I did replace the battery as suggested in another post. I've also completed a full diagnostic check with no errors. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer by using the computer's power button. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts.

You have to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you have to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer. If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system that you want to repair, and then press and hold F8. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter. If Repair your computer isn't listed as an option, then your computer doesn't include preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has turned them off.

Startup Repair might prompt you to make choices as it tries to fix the problem and, if it is necessary, it might restart your computer as it makes repairs. Need more help? Expand your skills.
