Install tekla structures model reviewer
To use Tekla Structures , install the Tekla Structures software and the Tekla Structures environments that you want to use. You also need to have the Tekla license server installed, either on your own computer or on another computer, and you need to activate your Tekla Structures license.
You need to be logged in with administrator rights to install the Tekla Structures software on your computer. You can select the installation folder and the model folder. Note that the location of the environment installation folder depends on where you have installed the software. This dummy assembly does not impact piece mark number nor will it show up in drawings or bill of materials. The Submittal Package can be delivered to the review team either via email or posted to a common ftp or project server.
The review team will unpack the submittal onto their local PC or a network drive where they can access the submittal file through the Tekla Structures software. Here are the steps to unpack the submittal. The architect, structural engineer and contractor can all use the In-Model Reviewer to review a submittal sent to them. All model and drawing comments are saved in their own respective folders within the model.
Here are the steps to begin the review process. Green — reviewed Yellow — reviewed as noted Red — revise and submit Blue — not reviewed. To turn colors back to the default settings, check the Default option and then double click on the Colorized Model icon. Note that creating submittals is discussed in section 1.
The Drawing tab allows user to preview the PDF. The user can see the stamp that is added to the drawing and move it to the proper location. The Status Summary tab is used to view and track assembly or cast unit status and comments in a selected submittal see image. Status is shown as three different colors where any assemblies or cast units containing comments are shown with a pencil symbol.
This allows the fabricator to quickly see which assemblies have issues to be resolved. It also lets the review team keep track of unreviewed assemblies in a given submittal.
Unique status and comment information can be viewed by selecting an assembly or cast unit in the object view list pane and viewing the Status Detail tab in the lower left pane.
The user can see the status and comments of other reviewers in the model under their respective column , as well as their PDF drawings right-click on a given assembly or cast unit and select Open Drawing. Then select the particular role.
By default all 4 reviewer status and comment tabs are shown. This is available so that when all parties have reviewed the model, all the comments and statuses can be seen at the same time. However, a particular reviewer may wish to switch off the columns during the review.
The Parameters tab lists out nested object data within the selected assembly or part in the tree view pane. Other Tekla Structures environments are available as separate installation files. Environments are region or company-specific settings and information that are predefined in Tekla Structures , or that are defined by the user.
For installation prerequisites and recommended hardware, see Tekla Structures hardware recommendations. Tekla Structures extensions are not part of the Tekla Structures product release. Extensions are available for download in Tekla Warehouse , and you can install them separately. If you have an online license, the license is connected to your Trimble Identity , and assigned to you by your organization's administrators.
All you need to do is to install and start Tekla Structures , and select to use online license. If you have an on-premises license, you need to have the on-premises server installed, and your entitlement certificate activated on the server, and Tekla Structures connected to this license server.

Then you can start Tekla Structures , sign in and select the license type. If you are using on-premises licensing, you need to have the Tekla on-premises license server installed, either on your own computer or on another computer, your Tekla Structures on-premises license activated, and Tekla Structures connected to this license server before you can start Tekla Structures.
You need to be signed in with administrator rights to install the Tekla Structures software on your computer. At the site, click Download for a guided experience that ensures you have all necessary files. You can select the installation folder and the model folder. Note that if you do not install any environment and start Tekla Structures , Tekla Structures prompts you to first install an environment before continuing the start-up.
It is the same page where you downloaded the main software from. Image Choose a language for the installation. It is not the same language that is used in Tekla Structures. Image Next, you will choose where the environment is installed to.
The installer will offer system files as the default option. Click Next to proceed with the installation. Image You are now ready to install Tekla Structures Environment. The check box for Install TSEP files now will determine if the packages are installed during this installation or at startup if you uncheck the box. If you leave the box unchecked, Tekla Structures Environments will be installed when you launch Tekla Structures for the first time.
